Paris Transportation
Paris is a very accessible city. There are a number of coach companies that link the French capital with destinations throughout France as well as further afield. France also has a good rail network with frequent TGV (high-speed trains) running to all corners. In addition, the Eurostar links Paris with London, Brussels and Lille.
Arriving by Air
Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport is France's premier airport and is used by many international and European airlines.
Getting Around Paris
Paris city centre can be reached by bus or taxi from the two main airports in Paris, Roissy-Charles de Gaulle (26 kilometres or 16 miles to the north) and Orly (approximately six kilometres or nine miles to the south), and will take around 45 minutes. If you have a choice, don't drive in inner-city Paris. There are a lot of traffic jams, and Parisians tend to be over-nervous drivers! The public transport facilities are excellent, cheap and punctual.
TIP: The Paris Visite pass gives you unlimited travel on the Métro, buses, Montmarte funicular, and suburban trains for 2, 3, or 5 days. The 5-zone version includes the Paris airports, Versailles, and Disneyland Paris.
